I've been making numerous positive lifestyle changes lately. I've heard that people who sit too much will meet an early grave, and I do really love using my computer, but I'm using an old wooden desk I got for Christmas from my parents  many years ago and it's impossible to stand at.

My monitor is this one which does have some mounting screw holes in the back for if I needed to mount it to the wall:

Is there any cost effective way to go about this?

No.

Not if you want the option of doing both sitting and standing, which you WILL want. My feet hurt after standing while wearing sneakers for about 15-30 mins. I alternate between sitting and standing using a VariDesk Pro 36

There are cheap standing desks for half the price but I can't attest to their quality.

The Varidesk I use my boss got for me, and it's quite a nice unit, properly weighted well enough that it won't tip over even when I rest my arms, monitors(2), heavy mechanical keyboard, drinks, tablets(2), and extra monitor stands to give the monitors a bit more height.

Ryzen 7 2700x | MSI B450 Tomahawk | GTX 780 Windforce | 16GB 3200
Dell 3007WFP | 2xDell 2001FP | Logitech G710 | Logitech G710 | Team Wolf Void Ray | Strafe RGB MX Silent
iPhone 8 Plus ZTE Axon 7 | iPad Air 2 | Nvidia Shield Tablet 32gig LTE | Lenovo W700DS

Alrights. Thanks for atleast somebody adding some input. Another idea is to take one of my alternate computers and set it up on a tall buffet cabinet downstairs which is nearly perfect height for a standing desk and I could simply use that computer for when I feel like standing. The only downside is that computer is far weaker for gaming. It's a prebuilt with an Athlon B28 CPU that I added my own low profile HD 8350 GPU into that used to be in my current rig. I can atleast play Rocket league on min graphics to get atleast 30 FPS though and there's always minecraft too.
