Noctua Industrial AF-14 PWM 2000RPM question

HeyGuys

 

So my new Noctua fans just arrived. But they don't run at the speeds they should..

 

I have them at 100% now and they only run at 900-1000 RPM while they should go up to 2000. What is the problem here?

 

I have both fans connected to the 4 pin connectors that come from the NZXT Kraken X61 pump.

Maybe the pump isnt supplying enough voltage. Try plugging them directly into your motherboard and see what it reads from there.

Agreed, plug the fan into one of your motherboard PWM fan headers

I can plug them in into CPU_OPT and CHA_FAN4, will the RPM still be adjusted to the CPU temps then?

Yes, you can setup PWM speeds that will correlate to your CPU temps in the BIOS.

They still only spin at 950 RPM even when putting them at full speed in BIOS

You sure you have the right fans? Also what mobo? As it may be better to use the software instead of the bios. I have those fans and they work fine.

Yea, I found out 5 min ago that I ordered the wrong fans... >Feels dumb AF<

 

I ordered the 24V version instead of the 12V one, so the 4pin headers can't properly power the fan..

 

Y'all can laugh at me, it's ok

That aside. Indeed we've all been there man. I'll remember to buy 12V fans in the future now though so lesson learned

TBH, I didnt think they made any higher than 12v for 4pin PWM fans so it was news to me to see that personally.

Yea me neither. Must be because of the industrial setup Noctua has, when running in more extreme conditions than a gaming PC the fans might need a little more power to perform
