Hi,

I made my computer a few hours ago but the fan are operating at 100% for no reason (running at 100% when idling.. 4.8ghz hottest core 80 deg with prime95 lol [i've had the h80 with this cpu for a while]. I was wondering if someone could help me set them to be nice and quiet :P. The case I'm using is a fractal design define r4.

I have a Corsair H80 (normal h80) but for some reason the fan speeds don't change on it. I'm using 2x 120m SP Static pressure fans with it (the main noise I think, i've mounted it where the normal exhaust would be because the tubing won't reach where I wanted to put it)

2x stock corsair fans (that came with the h80) that are acting as exhausts on the top of my case (second biggest cause of noise). I'm using the voltage step-down adapter I got with the sp120 fans but I haven't noticed a difference using it.

I can't notice the noise from the following although they are on it's that bad:

2x Fractal 140mm fans are intakes which is fine because it's connected to the switch in the case (which are on 12v since I can't even hear them at all over the previously mentioned fans). All of the fans exl these are connected to my motherboard (asus p8z77-v lx); these fans are directly connected to the fan controller on the case which is then connected to my psu.

Power supply = can't hear it either but it's spinning away normally.

Thanks for your time,

You can either set the fan speeds in the BIOS or more easily using AI Suite 2. This allows you to adjust the fan curves based on temperature.

Tried the BIOS, nothing seemed to change. AI suite just turned one of the exhaust fans off, all the other fans connected to the mobo operate at 100%.

Try changing it to custom and bring the curve all the way down. I noticed little difference with quiet myself so I just did it manually. I use an Asus motherboard as well, so I assume the process is the same.

Tried it, slight noise difference at best :/ http://prntscr.com/1woweg it doesn't allow me to change the rpm. The temps are really cool as is so idk why it doesn't let me change the temps.

Huh, that's interesting. It should let you knock the RPM down. Not sure why its doing that. Sorry
