Excuse the clickbait, So I just upgraded from an old i3 540 system (specs in signature) and I decided to do  a build log...

 

Specs:

 

i5 6500

z170-a PRO MSI

8Gb of Hyperx Ram

s340 Black

240gb Toshiba SSD

Apex 600w PSU (Wsed)

Gtx 660 oc Windforce (from old PC)

Parts! (was supposed ot be 24hour shipping but it took 5 days....80440ecf-4b57-434a-8236-6cefe3f841dc

600w PSU and Gtx 660 Pulled out of the old system.

Installed the tx3i with the nasty intel mounting, (fell off 3 times inside the case)

Just a pic while testing the pc, all parts inside! (Had to remove the cpu cooler because I could not acces the 8 pin power connector.

Added some red Leds, looks bad on the picture but is amazing in real life!

Build is done, downloaded windows and oced the cpu to 4ghz while I was waiting, got 45c in bios.

 

I could not install windows 7 in any way because it asked for drivers bould could not recognise any usb drives to browse for the drivers, currently downloading windows 8 since it comes with more modern drivers.

 

Will add a costum loop in a couple days/weeks, follow for more!

Great. When I first built my PC, the motherboard manual said to put the RAM in certain slots, put it wouldn't boot in those slots. And I keep panicking when my PC won't turn on, only to remember I turned the power supply off.

is your t3 fan pushing or pulling? you might be working against the airflow if the intake is in the front and then exhaust out the back

:P This is my 50th more or less build, its just normally windows does not fuck up

I worked on a PC with a clean install of windows 10, that whenever I shut it down, it would turn itself back on...

my t3 is pushing into the fins and the fan behind it is pushing into the t3 fan, the only other fan is the fan above which is also pushing into the fins, There is only airflow on the CPU but my GPU was cool on the other pc

I ended up installing windows 10 and installing windows 7 from inside 10 lol, W7 is installing rn
