How do I detect a dead pcie socket?

I've tried my 2 cards 8800gt and a 300x.

Both show nothing and when I plug them in they no longer lock the pcie lock.

Can you see anything wrong?

Well i can't make a assumption from the look outside i would need lock deeply in the PCIE slot,also make sure your clips are not broken

Is the lock bent at all? Because it looks a bit bent.

it still moves back and forth, just doesnt lock anymore

Well is flimsy?

The whole entire slot is bent at one end, which may have broken a few connections.

There isnt much that can be done about a slot which is broken like that.

Yeah thats as expected, just a few connections are broken which is why it isnt able to display, or lock.

You will notice significantly lower performance on top of the fact that the GPU itself is old and slow.

I would recommend saving up and getting a new build.

Its a bit like a broken wire hidden away. bending another thing next to it won't bend it back together.

New mobo?

New build?

Sacrifice 80% of GPU speed and use the 1x.

Use the IGPU.
