Game/Website issues

Hey guys  I need some help.

 

Before I go further, I dunno if this kind of topic would be classed as troubleshooting >or< Networking. I assume Networking but I dunno in all honesty. If this is in the wrong section of the forum, could a moderator/staff-member please move it? Thank you.

 

 

Ok so, I'm trying to relaunch my game that I was playing about an hour ago _{(Wizard 101)}  and the game itself AND the website won't load for me. The game crashed about an hour ago.

The client loads with a different screen showing login instructions but when I type my info (Username and Password) then press "Login", it just does nothing. Then, the website won't load for me either. It just says _{"This site can't be reached" "www.wizard101.com took too long to respond." "ERR_CONNECTION_TIMED_OUT"}.

 

I've reset my internet hub/router in the other room, I've restarted my computer and the same message still shows up. My friend who lives about 15 Miles (20-25 minute journey) away from me tested it just now about 20-40 minutes ago and he says the game and the website are loading fine for him.

 

I've tested the website on my laptop beside me and still the same message shows up. Sometimes it also shows up with _{"This webpage is not available" and "ERR_NAME_RESOLUTION_FAILED"}. I've tried restarting my laptop and loading the website again and guess what. STILL the same message that shows up.

 

Oh and also, I've checked my ISP (Internet Service Provider)'s website in my local area and it says things are fine.

I also cannot find a support page/twitter/facebook account that would broadcast a message or whatever regarding the game/website.

Other websites like Twitter/Facebook/LTT-Forums load just fine, no problems, only this website.

 

Does anyone know what I should do? I'm out of ideas and I can't think of any other solution(s) currently

Try using Google's DNS?

 

I must say, it's landing page is probably the most illegitimate thing I've seen in a long time.

Ah, yeah. It's a setting you change in your router to get it to manually look up domain names from a different directory  than your ISPs default which can be somewhat unreliable depending. The Google DNS addresses for ipv4 are: 8.8.8.8 and, 8.8.4.4.

Ah, I was just saying the website looked illegitimate because the landing page looks like every scam pop-up game ever. Especially with the prepaid thing, and the whole, "Kid friendly!" vibe it has going on. I don't know. =p

Have tweaked some settings and now it's working

That's because of things like profanity/swearing, typing rude comments and other things not suitable, ya know like 18+ content etc... nothing too absurd. They just word it like that which is odd but fully understandable.
