I have my parents old pc looking to fix it up, what went wrong with it was that one day it turned on and it shutdown and never turned back on, my brother said the cpu was arcing after we replaced the psu, im just not sure what the problem is, today i brought it back out of the closet and i plugged it in and the fans turned on but then i came back and it smelled like electrical fire, so i turned off my power strip and unplugged the pc, the pc is a Medion Composer 5200, Cpu: Intel Pentium 4, Gpu: Nvidia Fx 5300, Ram: 512mb ddr, Mobo:, I think its a Micro Star-7046 but not sure. If you guys could help me figure out my problem that would be awesome, Thanks!!!

yep your system is fried, expect no components to used in future builds, best to throw it away, nothing can be done

possible cap blew or something. I'd suspect motherboard. I still wouldn't trust that PSU though, it could have killed the MB

The pc was killed with the old psu, the new 520w did nothing.

Any suggestions for a new mobo? Really cheap and compatable would be nice
