Urgent PSU Question

So I am wondering if I should get the

Corsair RM850x (More PCIe Connectors)

or the

Corsair RM750x (A few less PCIe Connectors)

for my build. I am currently sporting an Antec HCG 620w which I have run out of plugs to plug stuff into. I have looked around and seen that the 750x, 650x, and 550x all have the same amount of PCIe Power plugs, and I am not sure if there are enough of them to suit my needs.

Antec Page - It appears that It has 4 PCIe Power connectors, and 2 Sata connectors. This is just not enough for me and I would like to at least have 6 or 8 PCIe connectors.

Note: I need to get an RMx/RMi/HXi/AXi PSU because I recently got myself a set of C-Series Cablemod cables. Thanks. ;)

Well, it really depends on how much power your PC needs. What are the specs of it?

Why did you buy yourself a set of cables for a PSU you don't have?

I was originally a winner of this PC I got to choose, but it turned out that the person giving it away decided to go under the radar. So, what PSU should I get?

Why do you need more connectors? The HCG is a fine PSU

If you do get an RMx get the 650W or the 750W if it's not much more than the 650

I need more connectors because I have run out of available ones. Simple enough? I'm just asking how many more PCIe connectors the 650 or 750w have or if I need an 850w.

Why do you need 6 PCI-E connectors though?

Most people are fine with 2, 4 if you SLI

PCIe is what they are called, but are usually used for peripherals too. I just need more. Now, is the 750w or the 850w going to be better? (On newegg, the 650w and 750w are the same price)

The 850w is only $10 more. Would it be worth it for like 4 more pcie connectors?

I mean, if we're only talking about $10 here, and you're concerned about the number of connections, this seems like a pretty simple decision. Just my two cents.

For $10, yeah. Get the 850W

Although do look at an EVGA 850W P2, if it's around the same price it's a good value proposition.

And please for the love of all things don't buy cables for a PSU that you don't own.

PCIe cables are for graphics cards. SATA (Or Molex) is used for peripherals.

One of the two has 5 SATA headers, which is only really necessary if you run a ton of drives or have single SATA connectors :D

Sorry for replying after so long, but yesterday I ordered the RM1000x because it was $120, the same price as the 850w and 750w on Newegg. You can't go wrong with more watts... Or can you? Did I do the right thing? Im thinking that for the same price, since the PSU's fan wont kick on until about 400w, I might as well get the bigger one since the smaller psus' fans would kick on a bit earlier... :)

Congrats on the RM1000X for $120. You can also hook up your microwave to that PSU so that all of that wattage is used in a proper and safe manner :D

Really though, it is highly likely that you will rarely jump over 300W, so it's like you're going to hunt rabbits with a howitzer :D

The plus side is that the PSU will be silent. If you're planning a home server with multi-GPU and loads of storage, then you're all set.

You should consider the RMi series if the price is similar, which includes corsair link monitoring and a slightly better fan.

I would get the RM850i

Nah, I'm okay, plus my cablemod set doesnt come with a sleeved link cable, just a rubber one anyways. Plus, you can always say that you have a 1 kilowatt psu!
