On my 1070 Sea Hawk I noticed the power limit in afterburner is going all the way up to 115% even though I set it to the maximum I can in afterburner to 105%. My over clock works fine and no artifacts as my overclock isn't uber aggressive. I'm just wondering does the gpu know if it can safely take more power than technically what I'm setting it at. My over clock is below just so u can understand what I mean by not super aggressive.

+100 Voltage

105% Power Limit

+110 Core

+ 550 memory

Stable at 2188mhz and max temp under load 43C.

Thanks for your help everyone

That's a pretty big power limit increase. Both of my GPUs have a +20% power limit and no extra voltage. The lower the voltage increase the longer your card would last before it breaks and plays up. As long as its stable the card should be fine for gaming use, but with +100 voltage which im guessing is about +1.0V you should only apply the OC during gaming and disable during normal use. Bust basically as long as its stable the GPU should be fine. ( the voltage probably would hurt the GPU more)

I suck a typing, preparw for typos.
