I'm starting to think I got a bad card.  even through the card's lights are working and strobing, the drivers that are available on the website do not recoginize the card itself.  I don't have a external cd drive yet, that comes today, but it's basically the same thing.  I don't understand why it's not recongizing the card.  I am currently working off the mb vga as my other two monitors are blanks which I assumed was because it wasn't set up properly yet.  I'm so frustrated with this.  Previouly i had a 650 in there.  Before I exchanged it out, i ran the DDU in safe mode.

If you're using the motherboard's video ports... That's probably the problem... Just unplug everything and only plug a single monitor into the GPU. That should work. It's how I managed to install drivers for my iGPU, GTX 480, and 7950 all on the same system.

So at this point, I"m just going to return the card and get a replacement.  I got my external cd drive and installed the programs, including the drivers, in the included CD and nada so I'll get the replacement on monday and we'll see what happens.  I must have shorted the card somehow.  I never had this much problems with the 650.  Should I consider another version of the 1070?

I bring good news.  The replacement card came in, and after being very careful, I quickly plugged it in, being mindful of ram, cables, seating, etc.  Booted it up and the display came up with it!!  Ran the driver install and it worked as well!!
