Simple DVI & HDMI adapter question

My question is the following: Is it possible that I hook up this DVI-D adapter to my monitor (dual link), and use HDMI to connect the graphics card and the adapter, so in the end my GPU's HDMI port won't be free?

I usually hook up the adapters to my GPU, never tried hooking it up to the monitor. are you sure that you've read it correctly?

Just check on the product page to make sure that it can adapt from hdmi to dvi, and not only dvi to hdmi.

I'll see what I can do, I believe adapters are 1-way only though. Thanks.

Some are, some aren't. Depends on what's being adapted. DVI and HDMI can be freely interchanged.
