Need a mic

I am in need of a new microphone for Discord. I have ATH-M50x headphones and have looked at the ModMic. The ModMic looks like a good mic, but I'd prefer a mic that's not by my mouth, so I want a desktop mic, which leads to the Blue Snowball. However I think that a 4" ball on my desk seems to big and bulky for me. Also I have a mechanical keyboard, so something that won't piss off my friends would be nice. With all that said, what are my options for under $60?

what about something like the Samson C01U? 

 

The only issues is that you may need to invest a little further with a arm stand.

I've looked at the ice, but isn't it the same size as the regular snowball?

It is, but it's cheaper + since you have a problem with it sitting on your desk, I put in a cheap boom stand.  Good luck picking your mic!

How far away can you be from the snowball? Maybe I could put it on top of my monitor or something like that.

You don't need an expensive mic. The best one i ever bought cost me like 6 bucks 15 years ago and it still works perfectly.

I have a drawer in my desk right under where my mouth would be so I had to turn down my mic in settings just to be kind to my friends on teamspeak :), but as for the monitor it depends on how far it is away, I don't think you should have a problem but I'm not a professional.
