New build

Hi All, I'm a total newbie in the DIY. Used to own a mac but it died. So planning to DIY but not too sure how. I have read around but just want to be sure. I even engaged those DIY business in my country but they are not responsive. They take forever to reply and it really pisses me off. I told them my budget but all they did was increase the budget by 40~50% and totally gave me different things compared to what I want. 

 

Hopefully I can get some inputs from the people here. 

Here's the build (I planned to get either Gigabyte or MSI)

 

CPU : Intel core i5 -6500 3.2GHz quad core processor

MB : MSI H110M Gaming LGA 1151

+ [Forgot the Video card] MSI Radeon RX 470 Gaming X

Memory : G. Skill 4 series 16GB (2x8GB) DDR 4 2133

Storage would be a Samsung 850 evo 250 SSD and a WD caviar blue 1TB HDD

Case : Cooler Master N200

Power supply : Cooler Master 550w 80+ gold certified ATX 

 

I have checked and found out the MB only has 2 ram slots, will that be a problem or should I get a different MB for future purpose? I read that for ram, a 2400 doesn't work in a 2133 right?

Oh! Not too sure. There's so many kinds of MB to choose. Wonder if it can last for 2-3 years?

Sure RAM usage have not really gone up that much, also if you want have plans of much editing you could always go for 32GB and you will be fine for probably 5 years...

Ah sweet! Thanks! Hmm, I have to add a wireless pci card to the build right? 

Is my build okay? Or would you recommend something else?

Yes wireless cards are great I use two myself. but what exact model is the PSU? Just to make sure it is not a model that will blow up... o3o (most likely wont because CM makes great gold tiered PSU normally)

No do no cheap out on PSU ever unless you find a better model cheaper that is, search for PSU tier list and see if you find your model and compare it to other gold marked models.

Do you need any peripherals?

 

Do you need Windows?

 

Do you live in the USA?

 

To answer your question:  2400MHz RAM in a H110 motherboard will clock down to 2133MHz.  It will still work.

About 1K. No need for peripherals. Got them already. Can reuse Windows from my other laptop. Not in USA. In Singapore. 

I've read about the RAM issue but I should just get the 2133MHz for the MB instead of 2400MHz right? The business owners just push out the more expensive parts.

The RAM won't matter, get what is cheaper.  If it very little difference, sure get the 2133.

It sucks that I'm a newbie and not sure of the stuff. Lucky there's Google to search and read. 

I'm looking at newegg. Or maybe some parts from amazon. The other physical shops sell the components way more expensive. 

 

The other problem is building it. I'm afraid I'll spoil it.

Building is easy, just like expensive lego. Just look up a guide on YT and follow along.

Building is easy.  Take your time, be careful and enjoy the experience.  If something is not working, stay calm and don't panic.  All you do is plug things together and push a power button.

Although it might still be a good idea to get help for you first build (Mounting the CPU cooler alone is a pain in the ass), it isnt that difficult and you could do it yourself need be.

I left out the GPU because I could not find a RX 470 on PCPP. 

 

I just wanted you to see a similar build to compare yours to.
