Gaming Build Help!

1. Budget & Location

Approximately £1,000 ($1,300)

2. Aim

Mainly gaming and general web browsing. Want to be able to run DOTA2 at max settings without a hitch, run intensive games on high settings and have the option to delve into VR in the future.

3. Monitors

2 Monitors at 1920x1080

4. Peripherals

I don't need anything ontop of rig hardware

5. Why are you upgrading?

My current build is approximately 4 years old and whilst it still runs DOTA/WoW well enough on decent settings, it has struggled with anything intensive and is feeling sluggish. I am looking to increase my graphics capability and become VR ready. I also currently have RAM issues whilst web browsing in between DOTA games, so looking to go upto 16GB for that reason.

if you're gonna overclock, get a z170 mobo, you won't be able to oc with a h170 mobo.

your build seems fine, good choice on parts. the only thing is that you got a H170 mobo, which won;t alow you to overclock. Though this has been stated above me aswell

Yes I do plan on doing some mild overclocking, so will invest in a Z170
