Suggestions on these builds

Working on a used parts build, and wondering if i am going to be asking to much of it? And should it be split into 2 builds?

I was at first just going to make it be a Steam box/HTPC,but due to a recent attempted break-in i wanted to add in some webcams as security cameras that i wanted to set to record 24/7 on a loop.

Here is the build i am working on.

Mobo: Gigabyte GA-EP45-UD3P

CPU:E8400(for now but will be getting an e5450)

RAM:4x 2GB DDR2 800Mhz

GPU: Not yet decided

PSU:Ultra X-Pro 600w

HDD:mix of old IDE and SATA drives

Case: cheapo no name case

Now i have a spare Intel 775 board lying around, and could build another system just for the security cameras.

But that is more space taken up,and more power used.

So what do you guys think i should do?

ok... so....

How will the security cameras prevent a thief to break into your house?

In MY OPINION, you should focus in another direction... Like "how to prevent a break in into your house" stuff...

It might not help.

Also they never got in,just damaged the door frame, which has already been fixed.

And we can't do any thing to make the door stronger due to it being an apartment.

Plus if we have a camera and can get some footage of someone trying again,if they are a resident of the apartments they could get kicked out,and that could mabye stop it.
