Could I do this?

Right, so my 360 Elite's 120GB drive is essentially full, and the 250GB upgrade kit really wouldn't be much better as I'd fill it up too. Now, the 360 Slim's 500GB drive is a few dollars more than the 250GB Elite drive, so I was wondering if I could rip the drive from the 360 Slim's kit and put it in my current caddy and have it work.

P.S. Sorry about the awkward wording, but I did this while cutting grass.

If you know what you're doing yes, the drives inside a 360 are nothing but 2.5 inch mechanical drives with the weird plastic shroud they put over them.

I knew that much, I was just worried that the firmware on the drives would be different so that my Elite flipped dick when I threw a drive meant for a Slim in it.
