Finally, my €4.6k build is here

Catalonia

Hi Guys, I've been waiting (and posting here) quite a lot for my final RIG machine, today I've finally got my last component (the MB) so I've started building.

Here my list:

http://pcpartpicker.com/list/BQwZf8

Basically:

  • Intel Broadwell-e 6850k
  • Corsair H115i
  • Asus Rampage V Edition 10
  • Corsair Dominator DDR4 3k 4x8 32GB
  • Samsung 950 Pro 512GB
  • Zotac AMP Extreme 1080 8GB GDDR5X OC
  • Corsair 780T
  • Corsair PSU AX1500i
  • Asus PG279Q ROG G-Sync IPS 1440 165Hz
  • Corsair Strafe RGB Silent keyboard
  • Logitech G900 Gaming Wireless Mouse
  • Individually Sleeved ATX Corsair official red cables

So, I've started building it this afternoon and here in Europe is already past 12pm and tomorrow I have to work, so, I'm done for today. The RIG is not even 40% complete and of course it needs a lot of cable management with Cable combs, etc. But, I definitelly accept any tip or opinion from everybody if you have some suggestion to my RIG or the way I'm building it or setting it up.

Will be posting all the steps until is complete, but for now here is what I've got!

I just happen to like this corsair so much, and is gigantic which helps me out having zero issues with everything I want to put in there.

Which one do you like?

I bet! This thing looks massive!

Give me a minute I have to take a look at cases that would fit that budget. xD I just got myself a Define R5 two days ago and that RIG would so not fit into there! :D

I had to go massive for the PSU and especially (and basically) for the Zotac, which is one of the largest GPU's out there. So, 780T...

Is in the "future expansion" list, 28 lanes would be enough too for now, but since I had to buy a future-proof RIG and was saving for such a long time I said... What a hell... Let's put a Broadwell-e with 40 lanes...

Future-proofing isn’t real bro

you’re probably not going to use all of those PCIe lanes unless you’re using them now

Really?

So, what if I want to put a SLI by the end of the year... Wouldn't I use it?

The point is that in all likelihood, you won’t. Obviously you can, but that’s not very likely, is it?

Are you sure?

Okay so after a short search I only found the Corsair Obsidian 750D that I would even consider but if I had that money I guess I'd spend hours on searching for a case because after I got the R5 now I would not want to miss even one feature that it includes anymore! :D

That's a pretty good one as well.

In fact, I've already had this 780T in the past (the white one) but I prefer the Black. The other alternatives would be the Carbide 540 with that unique design is also cool, but I don't like having the PSU hidden, so I went for the 780T

I did spent hours, days, weeks and months before buying everything. In fact, here in Europe we have different amazons (Spain, Italy, Germany, France, UK, etc) each one with different prices, so I've been trying to get every single component at the cheapest possible store, with amazing discounts.
