Hello
I can use some help & inspiration setting up my home network.
How did you guys setup your virtual labs and backup machines ?
Also i would like to be able to setup gameservers for testing mods/scripts but untill now i haven't been able to get my friends to come join me and dont feel like renting another server.
STATIC IP, PORTFORWARDED etc. Did dubbel check everything. Servers shows on steam and gametracker, but my friends can not join. I've done the same with my DVR and i can access it everywhere w/o a problem.

My network:

0y8wfKI.jpg

Gameserver:
LAN 1: 192.168.2.100 Static----------|
LAN 2: 192.168.2.150 Static---------[SWITCH]----------[ROUTER]--IP: 84.68.2.255]-------[MODEM]----
LAN 3: 192.168.2.200 Static ---------|

Nothing else on my network uses the same ports, and  IP 192.168.2.150 = forwarded in my router.
I must have something rong, and i will reset everything and start fresh soon.

What should i know and what am i doing rong with my current setup. How would you do this setup ?
I'm also in need of more storage so the next thing will probably going to be a big storage/cloud server build.
Personal network stuff is still a bit new to me, but i like to learn.

Please inspire me...:P Thanks!

I'm sorry I just have to say it... GIGABIT, NOT GIGABYTE.

I would recommend getting a router more... powerful. Like an EdgeRouter Lite. The issue you are having is most likely an issue with the firewall/nat on your router.

My native language is C++

Ah my bad:dry: And yea indeed, i got the Asus RT-AC87U but atm i can't use it  because of my ISP router. They wont give me voip info and TV stops after a few days.
When i switch provider i prob get a routerboard.

Starting fresh tomorrow so i will try to turn off its firewall.
