Macbook Backlight Issue

I have recently received a mid 2009 Mackbook with one catch, it has an issue with the backlight. The backlight briefly came on for a fraction of a second at startup and then it went off. The screen still displays, just no backlight. I have done an SMC reset which fixed the problem for one boot. Now the backlight stays lit until the apple logo comes up while booting then shuts off.

You can find some cables for the backlight of the screen. It's not very difficult to change but you have to be careful...

 

You can try an hardware test in case of but I don't think that it will change something.
