Problem with war thunder freezing every second

The video shows it off best. If you keep an eye on the FPS counter in the top left-hand corner it will show what is happening. 

  If you have a look at the image it shows that it just stops rendering. I have the latest GPU drivers and game patch, vsync is off and the settings ar on the default medium (After a reinstall). I have a 4770k (Stock) with 970 and 24GB RAM. Please help!

Wow that's weird.... Do other games work fine?

 

I recently have an issue with WT myself since it has been patched.

 

In MSI Afterburner using Rivatuner you can limit the FPS to whatever you want but now it won't work in  War Thunder but it worked in my Valley Benchmark still perfectly fine.

 

I am puzzled because I changed nothing.

Try set the maximum prerendered frames to "1" for WT in the Nvidia Controll Panel

Some dude said delete some config.bak file or something, didn't work for me.

 

Afterburner has no on screen display either in WT for some reason which I something as well leading to the fps not being limited. I'm so confused.

 

It plays fine for me but I want to limit my FPS to 65 because it actually tends to be a smoother experience overall because the frames don't go to 100+ then back down to 55-70-90 or whatever. I have no idea how to fix this in War Thunder since the 1.61 patch. Very frustrating.

Well, I just went into the Nvidia 3D settings and now for WT I use adaptive Vsync but I don't use the "in game" vsync.  Now I'm capped at 60, not 65 like I was before. My refresh rate using this monitor is a strange 75hz. So for recording purposes I left it around 65.

 

What I found in games by limiting your frames is less frame drops below the 60 fps limit for whatever reason. Certain games don't need it, like Witcher 3 for example unless you are running a benchmark on it.  Even AC: Sydicate I don't need a frame limiter.. but I use it anyhow.

Ok... Something I noticed in WT. After 1.61 patch my GPU settings were all changed. I had to go back in and change them all and then boom.... MSI worked again, go figure.

 

Ok, that worked for yesterday, then boom today, no overlay again... no fps limit either using Nvidia Inspector. I'm just plain confused.
