Reference cooler on Strix GTX970?

Hey guys!

i just wanted to know, if it's possible to fit GTX 980 referencial cooler on Asus STRIX GTX970 DC2OC ? if heatsink doesnt fit, nevermind, iam looking mainly for the plastics cover.

 

I've alway wanted green lighting GeForce GTX graphics card in my computer, i just love referencial (stock) nvidia coolers.

When i was upgrading my gpu from Asus GTX 660, i wanted GTX 970 because it was good gpu for the money. I was searching for long time for 970's with stock coolers and i can find only two, one from USA (BestBuy wich i think dont send to my country, or buy one from UK (OCUK GTX970).

But the price was very high already for that one not counting the shipping. So i just get my favourite brand Asus and get the overclocked version that was on sale for quite good price.

And iam now so pissed that like week later nvidia announced new Gpus, and now gtx970 ale so cheap thats its not possible to sell it even for half the buying price.

While i don't know the answer to your question,i know that you really can't judge Nvidia or AMD since GPU's from both Nvidia and AMD get better but cheaper over time,so older gpu's lose value

Yeah, but i can get over it, it's still a very good GPU.
