Screenrecording to SSD?

Hello.

 

I have been trying to record games to my HDD, but it seems my HDD is taking too much stress. So I was wondering If I could record to my SSD? Will that cause any harm/problems?

well writing to the SSD will wear it out. I personally wouldn't record to my ssd.

What program. If you recording compressed, it won't make a difference. Normally it won't make a different.

 

Whats "taking to much stress"?

yeah I know, I just like to limit writes to my drive to make it last a little longer.

Whats "taking to much stress"?

I will be using Nvidia Shadowplay to record. I tried playing GTA V and recording to my HDD and the video was just choppy.

If u have Crucial , Intel or Samsung SSD u are fine. They can handle PETABYTES of data. If  u have cheapest of the cheap (sandisk or kingston) then I wouldnt record on it for too long (6 months max)

Unles he writes to it non stop for 100 years. SSD's used to only be able to be written to about a million times. Now it is like 10 billion times. An HDD would die way before that

Your not limited by the drive. Its less than 8MiB/s of data and the drive can handle 10x that. You probably have another problem.

Could it be my GPU? I have a GTX 970 and I am playing GTA V which is an intense game. Can I play gta v with my gtx 970 and record with my intel hd 530?
