Nvidia driver updates will not install.

Hello as my title says I cant get my Nvidia updates to install. I keep getting an error saying: 

 

NVIDIA Installer can not continue 

A system restart is required. restart the system and try again. 

 

No matter how many time i restart, this happens. This error happens at the very start of the installer at the system check.

Do a registry sweep with CCleaner and delete something called NVIDIA_RebootNeeded. This entry might be in your startup try typing msconfig by hitting windows+r and typing this in and go to startup to see if a similar entry is there: http://www.eightforums.com/graphic-cards/18902-nvidia-installer-issue.html

Download the driver from the official website, run the file, make sure you click "custom install", and check "prepare clean install". That should fix your problem.

mgsstar you sir, are my hero! CCscan fixed the issue, and other issues that i was having with other games. thanks so much, this has been making me go mad for months now.
