I'm upgrading my old rig, to accommodate a 3D solution (gtx 760). I am going to get an asus VG23AH screen, and it comes with a pair of 3D glasses. Do I need to get separate glasses from nvidia? I know that you're supposed to, but i've heard of NVidia software that lets you sync your 3dtv glasses with the tv and using 3d that way. Does this exist, and if so, does this monitor enable me to sync the monitor and the included glasses together or will i have to go out and get an IR transmitter? Please do not post if you are a noob in this topic, that would be helpful.

Build: Fx-8120@4.1ghz,  Gtx770@1.0ghz,  16gb Patriot memory,  Cheap case from thermaltake

vg23AH is passive 3d. 3d vision syncing feature will not work because you will need a 3d vision monitor like the 144hz Asus monitors.

so, i will have to get a separate pair of nvidia glasses and ir transmitter?

I have one (VG278H) and it's not worth it just for the 3D.

Intel 4770k@4.6GHz, ASUS ROG Maximus VI Hero, Kingston HyperX Beast 2x8GB 2400MHz CL11, Gigabyte GTX 1070 Gaming, Kingston HyperX 3k 240GB - RAID0 (2x120Gb), 2xWD 1TB (Blue and Green), Corsair H100i, Corsair AX860, CoolerMaster HAF X, ASUS STRIX Tactic pro, Logitech G400S, HyperX Cloud II, Logitech X530, Acer Predator X34.

Of course. Not nvidia certified, but nvidia made :) good quality, no problems. Big lenses, easy to use. Be warned if you have a wider head. They tend to be a little tight, especially if you use headphones. But no biggy.
