I bought a EVGA GTX 1070 SC GAMING ACX 3.0 half month ago and I had no problems the card overclocked to 2088-2100Mhz with 110% power and 92C degree limit never exceeding 73C in games that are GPU heavy. So I had to move for one month with my parents to save money for university and the problem began.Few days after the PC worked the coil whine appeared and it's so fucking annoying. It's not would enough to hear from like 2-3 meters but the PC is on my desk right next to my head and the sound drills in my brain. Is it possible it's from my PSU ( FORTRON RAIDER 750 SILVER 750W ).I would hate to RMA the GPU.

My Gainward GTX 960 started buzzing after overclocking it (not even an excessive OC, didn't even add voltage or raise the powerlimit) and since then it just starts to buzz whenever I'm playing games. Did you try and dial back the OC?

It's unlikely you'll be able to RMA your card due to coil whine; coil whine is a common side effect of pushing higher than average voltages. Either set the voltage back to stock, start capping your frame rates in less graphically intensive games, or put in a ticket with EVGA support. Good luck!

the reason to overclock it because it started coil whining it worked at stock for the first week and a half  I overclocked it because I thought to myself " at least have some fun with it".

Well I have EVGA GTX 1070 Founders Edition, and I have coil whine ... I did RMA it twice already and on all 3 GPUs I had coil whine.

On third GPU that I'm still using, I still have it. I did try out 3 differend PSUs and coil whine didn't go away.

But I got coil whine out of the box. When power draw on GPU goes above 40%, I get coil whine. Nothing can be done with this sadly.

I did think about RMA once again, but shipping cost too much for me, so I will just have to live with it.

But I understand how annoying this is.

The best way to test if it's coming from the card is to isolate the PSU outside your case and see if it's coming from the GPU or the PSU. I originally placed the blame all on my GPU but it was actually my PSU(Corsair RMx650) that was causing the majority of the whine. EVGA will RMA for coil whine if you request it but there's no guarantee you'll get one with less or more coil whine for that matter.

i have EVGA SC 1070  , does have coil whine under 70%+ load, (it has whine at  idle, but you need to have ear right next to the card to be able to hear it, which is close to silent.)

when 70% load, i can hear it 1m away from case. i am tyring to upload a video with a micro phone record.
