Can mods cause software or hardware issues????

Hello guys, I was just wondering whether to install mods like cars, tools and such in my GTA 5 game. I am unsure whether it is safe or whether the mods can cause potential problems on my computer such as crashing the GPU drivers and crashing the game itself or if it causes the game to stutter and make it unplayable. Thanks in advance for any help and suggestions

Unless the mod is actually a virus, then no, it can't cause any problems (unless the mod is terribly coded).

Something light like custom vehicles shouldn't crash a game. Stuff starts getting hectic when you start creating a lot of objects that the physics engine has to render, such as hundreds of explosions happening at once or lots of collisions from an abundance in spawned in entities. Other mods like texture packs can put more strain on the graphics card if they are a much higher res pack than the original one. Do a bit of research before you install mods to see if other people are complaining about system instability and you should be fine. I just the other day installed the Menyoo mod for GTA V and my laptop with a lowly 860M was handling it just fine and I noticed no performance hit until I started using the tool to spawning in lots of cars and flying objects and creating lots of explosions. But even then, it wasn't much of a hit.

 

As for hardware issues, really unless the mod has malicious code attached to it you shouldn't do any physical harm to anything,

Like what about the naturalvision mod and trainers can the 970 handle that will it cause the game to go corrupt?????

I've heard of people with Nvidia maxwell GPUs who have hardware problems after playing modded games such as skyrim, not sure if it actually legit happening or not

EDIT: The issue is very rare, so mods most likely wont cause any hardware issues. If you have software issues you can just reinstall windows

Dell was having a $600 off sale for the fully specced out model, so I decided to get it :P

Fully specced out early 2013 Macbook "pro" with gt 650m and constant 105c temperature on the CPU (GPU is 80-90C) when doing anything intensive...

A 2013 laptop with a regular sized battery still has better battery life than a 2017 laptop with a massive battery! I think this is a testament to apple's ability at making laptops, or maybe how little CPU technology has improved even 4+ years later (at least, until the recent introduction of 15W 4 core CPUs). Anyway, I'm never going to get a 35W CPU laptop again unless battery technology becomes ~5x better than as it is in 2018.

Apple knows how to make proper consumer-grade laptops (they don't know how to make pro laptops though). I guess this mostly software power efficiency related, but getting a mac makes perfect sense if you want a portable/powerful laptop that can do anything you want it to with great battery life.
