Core X9 Snow

Hi guys,

Starting a new build, will be built over a few months while I wait for stuff to arrive.

Parts list:

i7-6900k

GTX980Ti (from last computer)

Gigabyte GA-X99-Phoenix

Corsair Dominator Platinum 4x 8GB 3200Mhz C16

Intel 750 400GB PCI-e SSD

Thermaltake Core X9 Snow

The case and above parts have arrived, after getting the Nod of Approval from Berlioz have installed the system using an temporary Intel stock air cooler:

Nexts steps:

Watercooling

Replace HX850 with fully modular PSU (RMi 750?) and order set of custom sized Cablemod cables, probably mostly white with orange accents.

Lighting, probably going to look at several RGB four pin strips, as the Mainboard has headers and software support for controlling these (along with matching RGB lights already on the Mainboard).

Also sorry if you already saw this when I posted it in the wrong sub-forums earlier. (Derp)

Couriers made it through the snow and some more parts arrived:

I've only ordered four fans at this stage to get me started, need another 8 in total (four for second radiator, four for case fans). My blocks and tubing also arrived, will post them up soonish. Everything else to get the water-loop done is on its way, via USPS which isn't an courier I'm familiar with so don't know how long they take, everything else has come via DHL.

After that is new power supply, cables and lighting, none of which I've ordered yet. I'm also going to try mounting the reservoir with a single mount off the middle cross-member to make it a bit more visible. At the moment it's pretty hidden once the side door goes on.

Some more stuff arriving:

Not really sold on the reservoir placement. I might see if it will hold ok with a single bracket and mount it off the crossbeam halfway down the case, and move it in towards the middle a little bit more. It's current position means it's pretty hidden once the side panel is on.

Also looking at the shipment tracking, that last of the water loop stuff should be arriving this week.

What are your ambient temps?

Screen shot was taken straight after turning it on in morning so was sitting off for ~8 hours. Ambient was probably in the 5-8C degrees range, but possibly got as low as just above freezing during the night.

Edit: I haven't done an extended stress test, but during benchmarking highest temps where 33C on the GPU and mid 50's on the CPU. The extremely small dies are getting harder and harder to cool.

That's awesome.  I'd love ambient temps like that, but I'm fairly certain my wife would kill me.

We generally only have heating on in the evenings when we get home from work, so early in the morning is benchmarking time :P

Nice build and I'm sure it looks great.  I can't complete with those ambient temps, but my rig holds it own in a 25c room.  :D

It's looking fairly average atm, needs to get some serious cable management going. Custom sleeved cables should hopefully help (going for white sleeving with one or two orange stands).
