The PSU is overkill but It's not all that bad to have some space to expand if you want to later on :) Oh and I would personally buy 16 Gigs of RAM not that it is all that needed for what you use it for though

CPU: Intel Core I7 7700K & Corsair H100i v2
Mobo: Asus Maximus IX Hero
RAM: 32 Gigs @ 3000Mhz, Corsair Dominator Platinum
GPU: Asus Strix 1080 A8G
Storage: Samsung 840 EVO 500gb
PSU: Corsair HX750i
Case: Fractal Design Define S

Overall, good. Just a few minor criticisms.

-The 3TB Barracuda is renowned for being one of Seagate's more faulty products. I suggest getting the 2TB variant or an alternative 3TB HDD.

-The power supply is excessive unless you're planning to do some crazy GTX 1080 SLI build in the near future. You should be fine with the 550W variant.

-By saving money on the PSU, you might be able to pick up a i5 6600K for some overclocking with that Z170 motherboard and a cheap air aftermarket cooler.

'Fanboyism is stupid' - someone on this forum.

Be nice to each other boys and girls. And don't cheap out on a power supply.

I would save money with you PSU and get a better CPU like a 6600K instead with a good cheap aftermarket cooler like a hyper 212.

Please quote our replys so we get a notification and can reply easily. Never cheap out on a PSU, or I will come to watch the fireworks.

Why does he need 16GB of ram to watch youtube and play games?

Ryzen 5 1600 - GTX 980 Ti - Broke.

Something about the case layout seems really ugly considering the big window

Now I don't own either of these cases mentioned but I would probably buy the Corsair Carbide Clear 400C Midi Tower instead. The Phantom 240 personally looks too flashy, if you get what I mean

  • 2 weeks later...

Looks like the build I did for a friend of mine, that PC rocks!

edit: yeah that PSU is a bit much. 8 gig ram is fine for now, and the easiest thing to upgrade later.
