So today a friend dropped off 2 strips of red LEDS with molex connectors for my PC. I just moved all my stuff into a Bitfenix Shadow window case. I havent mounted them yet but when I tried them out on a spare jumped power supply, it seemed almost instantaneously they produced a good amount of heat . They are 12V and seem of a higher grade. They are in a waterproof type of acrylic and the ends are capped nicely, even the wires are wrapped in a clean black sheathing.

Will 12V LED strips raise the temp. in my case enough to warrant an upgrade to cooling?

I am running a 6600k with a Hyper D92 + 2 front case 120mm and 1 exaust 120mm. My PSU is bottom fan in to its rear exaust.

No they may get a little warm but nothing that will amount to making a real difference in affecting the heat in the case.

I don't have a way of measuring the temp* But I will install them [mainly because I am excited to make it look cool] and W-L's comment. I may run my MSI command center and see how much it raises. O-O detective work time. Now I feel the urge to investigate. *in other words I just remembered Command center has a case temp probe] :D
