so i need a new boot SSD, either 120gb or 250gb(rather 250gb) at around $60 or less from trusted brand like Intel, Samsung and OCZ(those are not all the brands just some exampels) because i dont want it to die :( i dont know what SSDs to trust basically and Samsung is expensive AF here so i dont know what to get... thanks for any help and any replies :D

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

Builds:

The Toaster Project! Northern Bee!

The original LAN PC build log! (Old, dead and replaced by The Toaster Project & 5.0)

Can you really not go $5 up? I mean anything will work, have a look for 240GBs specifically.

OCZ is not a reputable brand IMO. Also you're not getting the best price to performance at 120 GB capacities.

I'd recommend Samsung's 850 EVO series (I'm using one of these in my laptop). Or Kingston's Hyper X Fury (Orders of magnitudes more reliable but slower in some write situations). Stay away from TLC drives.

is $60 USD or CAD?

Blue screens eh? Did you try setting it to Wumbo?

I vote for Crucial since it seems like the Samsung 850 Evo is a little bit too far out of your budget. Something like maybe an M500 or an MX100 should be pretty good.

One thing you might want to try is just going to PCPartpicker and sorting out everything so you get all the SSDs within your pricepoint that have at least a 3 or 4 star review and also fit the size that you want.

Laptop - Lenovo Y50   Keyboard - Corsair K95 RGB Cherry MX Brown   Mouse - Logitech G502 Proteus Core   Mousepad - Razer Firefly

That drive is a high performance drive rocking a Marvel controller maxing out in read and rights about 500 MBps for both sequential reads and writes. However, It's TLC nand chips, and has a rated write endurance of 100TBW which is about decent. This drive will die quickly if you do a lot a writing to it and IMO is a good choice if you intend to upgrade in 3 years.
