So a couple of days ago I asked the forums here what some good Skyrim mods/addons were and got some great suggestions and thanks to those who responded.  Now I need help with managing them.  I got all of them from the Steam workshop and love how easy it is to install them.  The little ticker on the launch screen is great.  It runs through all the mods you have and states if they're up to date and what not.  Now what I wish I had was some sort of menu that allowed me to access the mods I'm subscribed to and turn them on or off.  While almost all the mods worked perfectly, I did have a few conflicting ones that I'd like to disable.  Is there a very simple way to access something like this?  Maybe through Steam?  Or maybe a "history" of sorts on the Steam workshop?  Maybe it's a newb question but It's something I'd like.  Thanks to anyone who helps!

I get my mods through Skyrim Nexus, and they have a Mod Manager. I don't know if it works with Steam Workshop.

Thanks.  I'll give that a look once I get home.

Hes right, Nexus Mod Manager is by far way better then steam.. i would recommend to only use nexus mod managers and the nexus mod website (just google) and i would also recommend stay away from steam workshop because using both of these could corrupt your files ( so use 1 only ) nexus has better and more mods anyway

tip : when u download a mod from nexus website be sure to read the page below, because some mods will say like "must required addons :... " and stuff like that

also if u plan on getting DLC i would buy dlc first then install mods or you will need to reinstall everything when you add DLC (because a lot of mods have specific versions of skyrim)

Thanks.  I was doing that with the Steam wokshop.  I had seen a lot of them saying things like "requires version 1.7+"  Or  "Will not work with Dragonborn".  I already have Dragonborn and Dawngaurd installed so no worries on the DLC part. Now I guess the question is....to make the switch over to Nexus do I just unsubscribe from the mods on the workshop and they will go away?  Or how do I cease the operation of a mod?

I'd recommend mod organizer over nexus mod manager.

It allows you to keep your skyrim data directory clean, and your mods portable to other computers as the settings files are stored in the mod organizer folder. you can have profiles and things as well with certain mods enabled and others not, and disabling a mod is as simple as unticking a box. Each mod has it's individual folder so you dont have to worry about files for one mod overwriting another. if you need the file from one mod over another, you can just set it's priority higher :)
