Dear forum members

My dad whats a new computer case and is looking for an HTPC model. He likes something in the style of this.

The problem is he does not want to buy any other hardware or cooling, and I can't find a HTPC case that is able to hold a Corsair H110.

Do any of you know a case that will fit an H110 and still has the HTPC design?

Hardware that will need to be fitted in the case:

  • Corsair AX860i
  • Asus P9X79 PRO
  • Int Core i7-3930K
  • EVGA GTX660 Ti
  • Samsung SSD 520 240GB
  • 2x Seagate 4TB
  • CORSAIR H110
  • Plextor DVD-RW
  • Corsair Vengeance 32GB 1600
If possible HDD hotswap would be nice. In his current computer he has an Icy Dock MB876SK-B that he would love to keep using.

Thanks in advance.

Surely you appreciate that HTPC cases are generally quite small form-factor and that he is on a full-sized ATX motherboard, so before you even get to the H110 you're going to struggle to find something. The H110 simply compounds the problem since you're incredibly hard-pressed to find a HTPC (and therefore smaller) case which fits both an ATX board and a 240mm radiator

The closest thing which comes to mind is something like this: http://www.corsair.com/us/pc-cases/carbide-series-pc-case/carbide-series-air-540-high-airflow-atx-cube-case.html

His current case is an Corsair Carbide 500R, Which is to big to fit inside his desk. The 540 is to big to fit as well.

I know chances of finding a suitable case are very slim.

Thanks for your quick response.

You won't be able to fit an H100 in an HTPC case. For an HTPC you shouldn't even need much cooling. He's not wanting to do video editing and high end gaming with it is he?

I was afraid that that was the case. Though he is using the computer for video and photo editing, and not as an HTPC. He just likes the looks of those cases. And his desk has a space of 60cm(D)x50cm(W)x22cm(H) => (23.5"x20"x8.5") designed for a computer. (Ventilation holes, cable routing, ...)

Gotcha, sadly you probably aren't going to make that happen. The Corsair Carbide Series Air 540 mentioned earlier would work but it's quite a bit larger than the HTPC case you were looking at.

The H110 can't fit in any HTPC case for what I know. There are however some other alternatives, but they are not using this same form factor. The Corsair 350D is a relatively small chassis as well, but it can hold the H110, however it is a M-ATX case... Other than that it looks like your best option would be to keep your chassis or change the CPU cooler with something else.
