Hi guys,

My apologies if this topic has already risen before. I have done some searching but couldn't find anything.

I have a Corsair C70 case for my current PC that I managed to get on sale. It's a nice case and I like it. There are a few problems, however...

Whenever I mount fans onto the side-panel window (as I feel I should make use of them as they look a bit dumb with nothing on them and I do not have the proper tools to craft my own hole-free side panel) they make a horrible noise. Like a slow monotonous hum, could be vibration... Is there something wrong with my case or  is this a known problem with the C70? I tried AF120 fans at first, then I tried SP120 and also tried a couple of Zalman fans I had from my old case, same problem with both sets of fans.

Another thing is dust. Even though I have an H100i mounted on the top of my case I feel there is too much spare room on the top where the mesh is that lets A LOT of dust through and I'm having to clean out my computer of dust more often than I would like... Is there anything that I could buy/make that would still allow the H100i to exhaust hot air but covers the rest of the mesh?

Again, apologies if this topic has been done to death before but I could not find anything from searching.

Thanks in advance for replies :)

Dust filters!, can buy a set or individually, will solve your dust problem.

Not really anything you can do about the side panel fan's though, they are going to make some vibration no matter what you do...

It could be the fan's though, have you undervalued them so they don't run at high RPM?

Thanks for the link to those dust filters... I didn't know there was a company that made them to fit the C70 specifically, the idea I had before was buying the dust filter mesh stuff and cutting it to size... But I'll probably just buy one from there!

I'm still a bit clueless when it comes down to this kind of stuff... How would one undervalue a case fan? (I take it that means ramping the voltage down?) Would that be done through BIOS or?

I did think about reinforcing the fans with some kind of material (be it noise-dampening or otherwise)... wanted to make sure that it wasn't a fault with my case/fans/me!

Thanks for the replies guys. Much appreciated!

Also: Even though I have spent countless hours googling to make sure. I take it there is no company that makes a "hole-less" C70 side panel window? (without the mounts/holes for the fans?) I have seen people make a side panel window but unfortunately I don't have the tools to be able to do that...

With your AF/SP120 you should of gotten a extra cable which you connect the fan too, then that into the motherboard.

That is a 7v fan adapter, which undervolts it.

That little cable on the bottom is it.

So that's what that cable is for! Was kind of wondering what it did.... Maybe next time I will RTFM lol

I'll try that tonight! At work currently :(

Thanks a lot for your help!!
