So I have a Windows 7 64bit pc that was prebuilt, so I have the OEM version installed. I wanna build a completely new pc and do a clean install. I read on some forums, that you need to call some Microsoft support service and tell them something like ''my motherboard broke and i need to do a clean install for the new one to work properly'' and they will do this, however, what exactly is the number I need to call, I live in Austria btw. Also, i wanna use the key for a windows 10 64 bit, I wanna make a bootable ISO USB stick to boot from with the windows iso programm. Also I wont be using the current pc anymore ofc.

CAn anyone tell me what is actually necessary for this and maybe tell me exactly what i need to do please!

thanks in advance,

No the old one on your other computer will be fine. I did the automated call, and I got a key without having to talk to anyone, or having to put in any information.

so the old key will be disabled when you activate the new one?

so you can use one key on several products? I dont think, that works with OEM

Also, when iinstall windows, can i just install it with the test license for 30 days and then enter a valid key

I don't know if it's legal or in the grey zone but I've used it for my friends PC, 3 other laptops at my home, my grandparents laptop, plus it's been used to reinstall several times on some of the other laptops.

You can always try it. It has worked for me and for 2 machines I've upgrade withing 2 years.

ok, thanks

when windows says, that the key is being used and therefore not available, can i just use the 30day trial instead and then enter a key within that time span?

Yeah. If it says that, you can try with phone service. One tip though, don't enter key during install itself. When its being asked, select I'll activate later (or whatever it has as option).
