Laptop stuck at Splash screen. Help!

When I boot up my laptop it is in an endless loop of loading at the splash screen. I tried resetting the cmos and inducing an automatic repair screen and it gets stuck on diagnosing your PC. Any idea what this could be?

Is it posting? can you get to the BIOS? If you can get to the BIOS try booting into an OS recovery media (like a windows 10 iso USB stick), go into repair settings, and run diagnostics.

I can get to bios but I don't have a windows 10 iso with me rn I can make one later though

i would suggest that. If you can make it to Bios, that means that its an issue with the OS (most likely). Hardware issues typically cause a failed POST.

Awesome! I don't have a USB stick could I use an external hard drive instead? Or an sd card

not sure about an sd card, but a ehdd will work fine. Alternativly, you could use a cd/dvd.

I would use a cd but the people at hp thought that cds were obsolete so I don't have a cd drive

lol, cds are obsolote  I dont even have an optical drive on my primary rig.

Windows doesn't recognize my ehdd as a USB flash drive? Any thoughts?

I do for those pesky company's that still put their devices drivers on a cd

if you can find a plain ISO outside of the windows bootable disk creator, you can try using a free tool called Rufus.

I used it to install linux, but it will create a bootable drive from any iso.
