Linksys RE6400 Range Extender gets hot

Guest

I bought a linksys re6400 range extender couple days ago, it works fine although it has now power switch so it stays on for the entire day. Which results in the range extender getting hot and sometimes it doesn't work when its hot. It will say the connection is limited (no internet) sometimes. So is there a way i can keep it cool other than unplugging/turning off when not in use. Also is it ok to leave it plugged entirely for the whole day because my router does perfectly fine even though it does get mildly hot.
