Gsync laptop question

So best option is to keep vsync on also?

I would say yes.

So I just got a new ROG gaming laptop, g752 with 980m and gsync. This is my first ever gsync device and I'm a little confused. I though when using gsync you wanted vsync disabled, so I went into nvidia control panel and noticed that gsync on and vsync on is the default. I also noticed if I turn vsync off I get screen tearing in some games that go over the refresh rate of my screen (75htz) so my question is, should vsync be used with gsync? Tried searching online but get differing answers.

G-SYNC only works when you are below your monitor's native refresh rate. Once you hit that, you have the choice of switching to V-Sync or leaving V-Sync off, which would be why you get tearing once you hit your monitor's refresh rate because the GPU is going past it.

You also have the choice to crank your game's setting until it's right around 75hz and dips in intensive situations. That ensures you get the highest graphical fidelity and value from gysnc.
