Out of interest, does anyone know what the max amount of RAM an Android phone can address?

I'm curious because more and more phones are are coming with 4GB ram and even 6GB ram in some cases, my question is what's the point if for example the Axon 7 has the 820 processor and 4GB ram but its only a 32 bit processor does it work in the same way as x86 or 64 bit where you can only address 3.5gb on 32 bit?

DISPLAYS: LG 27UL500 IPS 4k60hz + HDR and LG 27GL650F IPS 1080p 144hz + HDR

LAPTOP: Lenovo Legion 5 CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 5800H GPU: RTX 3070 8GB RAM: 16GB 3200MHz (2x8GB DDR4) STORAGE: 4TB Crucial P3 NVMe SSD + 2TB Samsung 970 evo plus NVMe SSD DISPLAY: 1080p 165hz IPS OS: Windows 11 Pro x64

I'm not an expert in phones(mostly because I don't care about phone performance), but I heard that there are phones with 64-bit CPU's out there

APU: AMD A10-7850K cooled by an NH-L12; PSU(going to upgrade sooner or later):  Antec VP450P;RAM: 2x4GB HyperX Savage 2133MHz; MOBO: Asus A68HM-Plus; CASE: Itek [something] ; HDD: WD Blue 1TB(WD10EZEX)

OS: Triple boot openSUSE Leap Debian Jessie and Windows 10(aka MSX)

Most phones that aren't trash tier from the last few years are 64 bit.

The iPhone 5s was the first 64-bit phone. Most flagships from the last few years have had 64-bit cpus. (the SD 820 is 64 bit)

All I knew before your post about this is when a friend of mine that loves mobile phones had bought his brand new expensive phone and he told me it was 64-bit because he thought I'd be impressed, but I wasn't :D since I knew that it probably wouldn't have meant much in day-to-day phone use

The fact that it's 64 bit doesn't mean much other than that the 64 bit SKUs are getting the newer/better tech. It's kind of like why 4K TVs look better than 1080p TVs -- at the normal viewing distance the resolution isn't that big of a deal, it's the fact that manufacturers are putting their new tech into the 4k models and not the 1080p models.

There is also new software that leverages 64-bit CPUs a bit more than 32-bit CPUs: https://www.androidpit.com/things-you-didn-t-know-about-art-runtime
