Thunderbolt advice needed!

Hi,

 

I currently have my desktop on the floor next to my table. I can't see through the case's window which is a shame and i'm also a little worried about dust because it's sitting on a carpet. No dust filter is a match for a carpet over time! :P My cable management is also dreadful. 

 

Then I heard about thunderbolt. I don't know anything about it so I had a few questions regarding a potential set up.

Would I be able to carry all these things through the pc without any performance drops or any other drawbacks?

 

Any help or advice is greatly appreciated.

Well yeah it will work, but for that distance I would just get cable extenders or something like that.

 

That thunderbolt upgrade would cost you more than 250$.
