weird issue with second hdd

ok ever since i installed my new rx 480 every once in a while my second hdd disconnects from the pc and programs start to shut down and when i restart my pc my program icons would be plain pieces of paper so i would have to shut down my pc completly and turn it back on to get it to work

The hard drive unmounts... I would check physical connections first to make sure you didn't loosen anything when you installed the video card.  

 

Does it do that in a new user account? 

Does it do that when you put the old video card back in (or use integrated graphics)?

 

Are the programs that quit unexpectedly installed onto the second drive?
