Windows 8 resolution problem

I took my pc and my 1080p monitor to a different spot in my house and the highest the screen resolution in the control panel is 800x600, any help?

If you're using AMD, what's the max screen res that CCC shows?

 

Mine for example;

Did you use a different cable? Did you plug it in the right port? Are you using VGA?

No nvidia

 

Then go into nvidia controll panel -> Display-Change Resolution.

 

What does it say there?

Create a custom resolution under the Nvidia Control Panel(NCP). I know mine messed up and doesn't have 1080p as a native resolution anymore under the NCP.
