Hey everyone,

I'm attempting my first PC build. So it goes without saying, I'm a noob at this. I've done many hours of research and have landed on the parts I want to use. I'm going for air cooling and a quiet build.

The thing I'm most concerned about is any clearance issues I may have with the Case, CPU Cooler, and RAM. In your expert opinions, will these parts fit? Will I run into any clearance issues with the cooler fitting into the case? What about the cooler blocking any RAM or ports on the motherboard?

Case: Corsair 400Q - Max. CPU Cooler Height 170

Cooler: Dark Rock 3 (the regular, NOT the pro version) - Dimensions (LxWxH) 73x132x160

Motherboard: Asus Z170 Delux

RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB

CPU: i7 6700

Video Card: GTX 1080

Would it be better to go with a slimmer cooler, maybe the Shadow Rock Slim, for instance? It's dimensions are 52x130x161. But will that cool my CPU effectively?

Thanks for your help guys!

Thanks. I saw that the build passed compatibility check. But I had people tell me that it doesn't account for clearance issues among the parts. Are you saying the compatibility check does take clearance into consideration?

Question. Where did you find this information? Also, I'm looking at picking up the Dark Rock 3. That's very different from the Dark Rock Pro 3.

I was using that as an example from my current build plan. At the bottom of your parts list it will list any potential incompatibilities.
