What you want for this budget is a decent am3+ cpu, maybe a 6 core. I would go for the RX 460 gpu when it is released (maybe in a few days?). $550 CAD should be enough if you do not buy a cpu cooler. If you like my idea, reply and I will send you a complete build for this.

it seems pretty good, except i would want to order it as soon as possible and not want to wait for stuff to be released

& out of curiosity- any builds with an intel cpu/mobo would be a little hard to do at 500-550?

I tried to put together a good build in CAD, but as a USA citizen, I never realized how bad CAD is. While this build is way over budget, it should do well in games that are coming out in 1080p.

A few things to consider, like spidsepttk said, you could wait for the RX 460 (which personally is not a bad idea). However, I would not recommend getting ANY am3+ CPU. As an FX-6300 owner myself, I wouldn't recommend it and the i3 I recommended is Skylake and should last for a while. Meanwhile, the FX series is almost 5 years old now. Sorry for going over budget, but I tried to work with what I had.

Yeah, a good intel build wont work for that money. Give me a minute and i'll get you a build.

Intel is much pricier than AMD but it will be better in the long run. If you don't mind saving more/waiting then it will be worth it. I wouldn't recommend any AM3+ CPU.

Really? Intel is all about what socket you buy, and most cheap intel cpus use sockets that Intel do not make hyper threading cpus in or cpus with greater than 4 cores.

I'll see what I can do. The graphics card will probably be downgraded unless you could wait for the RX 460 which I highly recommend.

Okay, with almost all new parts, this is basically the best I could do.
Not using pc partpicker bcuz idk how to Canada so,srry m8

Athlon X4 845 (NCIX) 80 CAD

ASRock FM2A58M-VG3+ R2.0 AMD FM2+ (NCIX) 60 CAD+15 CAD mail in rebate

Corsair Vengeance CMZ8GX3M1A1600C10 8GB 1X8GB DDR3-1600 (NCIX) 43 CAD

Sapphire Flex Radeon HD 7770 Ghz edition (ebayCA) 65 CAD

Seagate Barracuda 1tb hard drive (NCIX) 67 CAD

EVGA 430w 80 plus power supply (AmazonCA) 35 CAD

Antec VSK-3000E Case (NCIX) 42 CAD

Total 392 CAD without shipping and mail in rebates.

If you've got an extra 50 bucks you can get something like a 7850 which will be a lot better than the 7770. But, for 400 CAD I think this is a pretty good build.

That's why I said he could swap it out for a 7850. And I have a 7750 and it eh, works. So whatever :P I also have a gtx 460 which is about a 7770 and I can play gta v 1366x768 at mixed settings. But op wants 1080p.

@OASTERS-CLAMS-AND-COCKLESTry to find a 7870 or 7950 in your price range. So about 175 CAD max for the gpu.
