So I decided to upgrade my semi legal windows 7 ultimate. To Windows 10. I downloaded the upgrader and yes the semi legal windows 7 ultimate has keys and was wondering if the windows 10 upgrader offers clean install and you know upgrade, cause upgrading I heard causes you to keep all your files on your c drive.  Which I want to do.

the GWX app offers an in place upgrade. So you keep everything. Doing a clean install afterwards would remove all of your files, so you'd have to back them up.

the "Get Windows 10" app. The app which upgrades you to Windows 10 normally.

Are you using the media creation tool?

is you current installation fairly old?

i dont recommend doing an upgrade then, you can still backup the files you want to keep.

Everybody has to do an upgrade to get Windows 10 for free.

Afterwards you can do a clean install but many people don't

yes you can, but not with the upgrade program.

correction: you can clean install with the upgrade, if you reset your current OS.

Yes. You have to. Either with the Windows 10 Media creation Tool  OR the GWX app.

Otherwise you have to buy a Windows 10 USB or Windows 10 ISO Download.

Oh ok. What you have is the Windows 10 Media creation tool. You'll just need to download 3GB for the upgrade and it'll do the rest for you (mostly).
