PSU orientation?

Here's the answer for anyone who doesn't want to read.

You should be careful to let your PSU have a good amount of airflow. Capacitors wear out more quickly under higher temperatures, which means that your PSU will die earlier, and small feet aren't enough for a carpeted floor.

I recommend either flipping it back up, or devising some inch-tall feet for your case. Also make sure your case has a dust filter in its PSU intake.

I had my PSU with the fan facing towards the inside of the case but I flipped it around (so the fan is facing towards the ground) to get some better cable management. I have my pc on carpet where the fan doesn't have a lot of room to pull air from. My case has small rubber risers that raise the PSU just barely above the bottom of the case. Should I be worried about my PSU over heating or will the PSU be fine even without a lot of air flow?

like it may not last as long, if you want to fix it just put a piece of wood under it.

Yes but the filter goes straight into carpet

Then my recommendations stand as they are. What model is your PSU if I may?

Yeah you're gonna wanna keep that thing as cool as you can. Its capacitors are pretty bad and its build quality leaves to be desired.

Also don't try to pull more than 380W from it because in reality it's a 380W unit

What makes it a 380W unit?

Actually it's 380W, but it's the fact that out of the three common electrical rails in a PSU, the one that feeds CPU ane GPU is only rated to do 380W in this unit. Take a look at the picture for reference.

As you can see in the pic, the bit that says 12V which is the one meant for CPU and GPU has a rated max output of 384W

What PSU would you suggest? If it helps I'm planning on getting a 1080, and I have a i7 1790k. It would also be nice if I could also run my 750ti along side my 1080 (Not in SLI, of course)
