From what i heard. Depends on usage.

The 4k monitor will be much better in movies (cause most of the movies are avaible at 16:9 ratio), same probably goes for web browsing.

Ultrawide monitors have the upper hand in productivity, cause you usually get software that lets you use them as couple of monitors "attached" together (for ex. split the screen into 3 separate "screens" visible side by side, or split it into 4 screens, etc.). Also gaming is preety good on those, cuase you get much bigger FOV (field of view)

If your gonna be gaming I would say the 1440p. I don't know your setup but normal 4k is already very hard to game with. If you only want to use it for tasks like editing or working, I would say the 4k is the better option.
