It will come with its own cooler that does the job fine for non overclockers

It comes with a stock cooler, so not required per se, but if you want lower temperatures, then buying a CPU cooler will be "necessary." Bear in mind that the stock cooler is totally fine.

No, it comes with one. However, if you want to spend a bit extra to buy one separately (I'd suggest the CoolerMaster Hyper 212 Evo), your CPU will run a little cooler and it will be quieter than if you use the the included one.

Lenovo Ideapad 720s 14 inch ------ One day I'll have a desktop again...
