Hyperx cloud 2 problem

So I've been using my cloud 2s for about a year now with no problems. I would only use the cloud 2s for my computer with the USB attachment but recently I went on a trip and had no need for the USB attachment so I left it at home. My problem occurred when ever I would try to use the headset with my phone. They would not work unless the mic was plugged in as well

I have never had a problem with my headset and being unable to use it unless the mic is in. Must be something wrong with it. Check your phone settings and possibly a RMA is needed. But I think there is a 6 month warranty on the headset.

Hey, since your'r both using the cloud IIs, how's the sound? I'm between them or spending some more for the Beyerdynamic DT 990s with a modmic... A guy on youtube said the bass in the Cloud IIs is weak but I'd like a couple more opinions... What do you think? I'm thinking music-wise aswell as gaming-wise
