I've heard that's it's a good idea to clean install before upgrading to a new OS version (like android marshmallow) to im. I'm on an LG V10 (Brand-new refurb). Should I go through the hassle of resetting to factory, or just update overnight?

If its brand new and hasnt really been used, Id say just do the upgrade. You can always FDR it after if it acts funky. I cant recall if I did the FDR on mine, but I can tell you that the update took my phone back to factory if I remember correctly. However, I did not wait for T Mobile to send the upgrade OTA. I actually updated my phone with the LG software on my PC not sure if that matters.

I just want to sit back and watch the world burn.

Thanks! I upgraded last night. A few things were a bit funky, but after clearing the cache, restarting the phone a couple times, etc. everything seems good. I'm getting significantly better battery life and a better fingerprint sensor.
