New build for a friend! Opinions needed

raymen1

Hi guys! I've been discussing with a friend what his next build is going to be like, the idea is pretty clear at the moment and I wanted to get the LTT community approval just in case it needs some changes :)

We currently live in Spain, and the budget is 1000€~

The aim of the build is gaming at 1080p with a secondary screen for YouTube/Netflix&chill/whatever (secondary screen is probably going to be salvaged from somewhere else and is probably not going to be 1080p).

Summing up PC + 1080p monitor.

Pricing has been taken from http://www.pccomponentes.com/ , Spanish site that we will be using to buy the stuff from.

Things we have in mind so far:

CPU: i5-6600 220€ (http://www.pccomponentes.com/intel_core_i5_6600_3_3ghz_box.html)

SSD: 240GB Crucial BX200 69€ (http://www.pccomponentes.com/crucial_bx200_ssd_240gb.html)

HDD: 1TB Seagate Barracuda 7200 46.95€ (http://www.pccomponentes.com/seagate_barracuda_7200_14_1tb_sata3.html)

RAM: 2x8GB Kingston HyperX Fury DDR4 2400 PC4-19200 CL15 63.15€ (http://www.pccomponentes.com/kingston_hyperx_fury_ddr4_2400_pc4_19200_16gb_2x8gb_cl15_reacondicionado.html)

CD/DVD: LG GH24NSD1 15.95€ (http://www.pccomponentes.com/lg_gh24nsd1_grabadora_dvd_24x_negra.html)

MoBo: MSI H170A PC Mate 92€ (http://www.pccomponentes.com/msi_h170a_pc_mate.html)

PSU: 600W 80+Silver Tacens Radix VII AG 52.5€ (http://www.pccomponentes.com/tacens_radix_vii_ag_600w_80_plus_silver.html)

Case: Corsair Carbide 100R Silent Edition 67€ (http://www.pccomponentes.com/corsair_carbide_100r_silent_edition_negra.html)

Monitor:  BenQ GW2270H 22" LED 105€ (http://www.pccomponentes.com/benq_gw2270h_22__led.html)

Total : 731,55€

Graphics Card: I forgot to add that we are waiting for aftermarket RX 480s to arrive at our store, the idea is to buy the pc now, and add the card later. (250-300 estimated price in € ).

Case and monitor where not really thought about so your opinion would be much appreciated!

What would you change and why? Thx!

And the PSU thing, that one isn't trustworthy, and if you chose it because "80+" then you must know that 80 plus test doesn't guarantee a PSU to be a quality one but it doesn't matter because that PSU didn't even pass 80+ tests, it's a fake badge

Excuse me?

Ive been helping planning this system, and tbh I feel you are complitely misinformed:

http://www.plugloadsolutions.com/psu_reports/TACENS_RADIX VII AG 600_ECOS 1211.1_600W_Report.pdf This report is for that PSU listed. got it from ehre: http://www.plugloadsolutions.com/80PlusPowerSuppliesDetail.aspx?id=210&type=2

So yes, the PSU is 80+ compliant, also Europe has tight quality check regulations so there is no way they'd be able to sell a fake-branded product.

(and yes, it is not the best PSU around, with a sub-par 12V rail, but it will still work as intended and have little to no chance of failing in real life use)

Never heard of that PSU brand. Get something reputable like EVGA, seasonic, cooler master...

Would probably pick a different ram , crucial, corsair's, Kingston, ripjaws etc.

Other than that it's a great build.

Well then there isn't much data to judge or to get a good opinion.

Ill follow, there is indeed a single topic round the internet of a different supply being used in the tests than in the shipped product, but There is no real proof of it other than the voice of those who made the topic, and in the little reviews we can find, we can see that the efficiency is OK, as i said the onlky noticeable flaw is the 12V rail being slightly below the rated voltage.

Basically, spending 10€ more  for a "actual 80+ bronze" EVGA PSU just because you heard unproofed claims of "this brand is crap"... And no, im not affiliated with Tacens, but I personally have a good experience with their products (At least PSUs, something I cannot say about Nox, another spanish brand that does actually sell garbage).

And this PSU are clearly NOT in the "do not buy" PSU lists that we can find round the net:
